Claire discovered Harrold S on her December 2016 European shopping trip and purchased him as her next competition horse after her Grand Prix horse, Calimar, was retired. Winners of the 2022 Markel/USEF Developing Horse Grand Prix National Championship, the pair has had several very successful seasons in competition, earning numerous USDF Horse of the Year titles and countless high-point champion awards. They are currently competing at successfully at the International Grand Prix level, where they made the top-80 in the FEI World Rankings in their debut year.
In the spring of 2021, Claire and Harrold continued their winning ways at the Small Tour level with scores to 75.9%, before moving up to Intermediate A/B/II over the summer, earning scores as high as 72.9%. They finished the season as Region 6 Intermediate I and Intermediate Freestyle Champions, finishing on a career-high Intermediate Freestyle score of 76.4%. The pair competed in their first international Medium Tour at the Desert Dressage 2 CDI in November, winning both classes with scores of 69 and 70%.
Harrold made his international debut in November 2020 at the Desert Dressage 1 & 2 CDI-W's, sweeping the 3* Small Tour division both weekends with scores to 75.9% after making his national Intermediaire I debut several weeks prior, which he won on a 78.9%. The pair was invited to the August's USEF Developing Prix St. Georges National Championship on their qualifying score of 73.9%, but declined the invitation due to concerns over COVID-19.
In 2019, Harrold made his Fourth Level debut, earning scores to 77% and high point champion titles at every competition through the season in Southern California. He won the USDF Fourth Level Horse of the Year Champion title with a median score of 75.358%.
In October of 2018, the pair won the Foreign Rider Champion Title at the Pacific Regional Dressage Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia, with scores to 75%.
In their first year in competition, Harrold and Claire earned 9 marks over 80% at Training and First Levels, and finished the season as the Northwest Series 4/5-Year-Old Materiale Grand Champions. Harrold also won the 2017 USDF Horse of the Year titles at Training Level and Materiale with median scores over 82%, in addition to finishing as Reserve Champion at First Level with a median score over 79%.
